I have to wonder how long he was going to let it go on without saying anything if you hadn’t invited him to dinner or whatever. But at least you found out before you had to spend money on him.

There is a bit of risk going more public with your blog. Like Tracy said, you’re going to have to rein in the details, but the details are part of what makes your blog so awesome. So I suppose you could write your awesome blog post for here, then edit it to protect the “innocent” before posting it on the public spot? I think it would be a big hit if you did go more public. As you mention, though, there’s a lot more room for backlash.

I like the idea of going public. You might want to be a little less specific about where the guys work or what their wierd life circumstances are, but it is a great idea. Your posts are very entertaining and we can all date vicariously through you. You make me more thankful that I am married every time I read. Be sure you get a good alias for yourself too!

Yeesh. I understand people who don’t like to talk on the phone, but he asked you if you count things for a living? I can forgive pauses, but I’m not sure I can overlook that.

I say go. Like Shannon said what have you got to lose. He has most likely been out to dance clubs and thinks that is a bar. Take him to a BAR. A place with good drinks, good food, and karaoke. I know you will make it a great time. If all else fails just hook him up with some slut at the bar and cut out.

I would say go. But with an escape plan. The phone thing, well, I suck on the phone, too, and look at the scintillating conversations you and I have in person. Although we’re usually at a bar Comes down to whether he truly thinks stuff like the accountant comment, or just gives bad phone.

I second taking him to a bar, though, so you can see his reaction. Maybe he just hasn’t been to a bar with someone as fun as you. But, if he’s freaking out, like “oh, all of these people are evil and going to hell” THEN you should run for the hills. And of course we all want to hear all about it.

Some people just suck on the phone. I say give him a chance in person. I like the coffee shop suggestion. Or maybe someplace you like to eat anyway so you’ll get a decent meal out of it. Doesn’t have to be anything huge, and going out once with the guy doesn’t imply a long-term commitment. Worst case scenario, you waste a couple hours and have new fodder for your blog. =)
